As we’ve mentioned before, microfinance is a great way to help prevent human trafficking.  By providing economic empowerment to entrepreneurs poverty and desperation can be alleviated and this drastically reduces the risk of trafficking.

If you like the sound of that then check out World Vision’s new program – Micro.  Your donation helps transform entire communities.  When the first loan is repaid, the money is re-loaned to another entrepreneur in the same community – transforming many lives as the fund moves from one small business to the next.  Watch their video here.

About

Emily founded Stop Traffick Fashion in 2009. She’d been becoming more and more involved in the abolitionist movement, and she decided to start STF as an opportunity to bring together the best of all products made by survivors of trafficking. She hopes her response to trafficking will inspire others to take action, even in a small way. Emily lives in Cincinnati, enjoys traveling, and has visited Hagar International and StopStart in Cambodia.
