Not everything about Afghanistan is complicated

Hagar Afghanistan opened it’s shelter just over a year ago.  The Kabul shelter has a capacity of Five year old Mateen35 at a time.  We were prepared to receive a majority of women who were victims of abuse, rape, trafficking.  We were not expecting to receive so many children.

In the first 14 months of operations, Hagar served a total of 17 women and 75 children. Some, like five-year-old Mateen, came with their mothers.  Mateen’s mother was the victim of horrific abuse, and it put the whole family at risk.  The shelter is keeping all of them safe as holistic care helps them prepare for a better future.

Every day, Mateen asks if he can play outside.  We want to build him a playground.  We need your help.  Your gift, of any amount, will provide a simple solution in a very complicated country.  Please give today, and give Mateen a place to play.

Emily founded Stop Traffick Fashion in 2009. She’d been becoming more and more involved in the abolitionist movement, and she decided to start STF as an opportunity to bring together the best of all products made by survivors of trafficking. She hopes her response to trafficking will inspire others to take action, even in a small way. Emily lives in Cincinnati, enjoys traveling, and has visited Hagar International and StopStart in Cambodia.
