A soldier in Maryland has been charged with two counts of human trafficking – including a 17 year old girl from Ohio.  When his apartment was raided in relation to a suspected prostitution ring, police found a missing girl from Ohio.  The girl claims she was lured away to go to a party and then forced into prostitution.

The prostitution ring was being advertised on Craigslist.

Craigslist has come under fire recently since Philip Markoff was arrested on murder charges.  Even before the charges many have criticized Craiglist for it’s role in criminal activity.  Polaris Project views Craigslist as one of the largest platforms for child trafficking around the world.  Although the number of illegal ads has declined, activists are calling for more to be done to prevent this activity.

    Emily,

I read your blog. Several days ago I watched a brief video you had also. I think this can be very helpful in making people aware of the injustice that goes on all over the world.
