Date: Saturday, April 9
Result: Dozens of trafficked girls and women rescued as powerful club is brought to its knees

Dear Friend,

This weekend, local police and the IJM team in Cebu conducted a long-awaited rescue operation at a major bar – securing the rescue of dozens of girls and women believed to be victims of sex trafficking.

The prominent club has been operating since the 1990s, and the successful businessmen who ran it seemed untouchable to many. But that changed on Saturday, when IJM and the police conducted a major operation there: Seven people are now facing charges of qualified trafficking, which carries a life sentence.

Thank you for joining with IJM as we stand up to the traffickers who abuse vulnerable girls and women.

CEBU, the Philippines – IJM Cebu Director of Aftercare Mae del Mundo assists rescued women as they provide their statements to police.

This global movement of friends, advocates and supporters is making rescue and justice possible for those who most desperately need it.

Gratefully,
Laurie Hayes
